1. Scope
This policy set outs Coast Medic’s standards & responsibilities to equipment servicing / maintenance requirements for all organisation serviceable equipment.
2. Equipment rules
- Only use the equipment for what it is intended for.
- Report all incident of failure, error, damages to the Operations manager and or company director – Incident report in applicable.
- Maintain security of all equipment.
- No Equipment to be taken from the vehicles or premises for personal use without the explicit authorisation of a company director
- Where required check for expiry dates of all related consumables
- Where required check for servicing expiry dates
- Ensure that all electrical equipment has adequate charge and or spare battery or the facility to power up.
- Do not use a piece of equipment that you have not had the requisite training for.
Employees who violate company equipment rules may be subject to disciplinary actions which may include verbal and written warnings, suspension of vehicle privileges, termination and legal action.
3. Accidents or damage
Contact the operations manager / company Director immediately. and an incident report form IR1 or Electronic incident reporting system to be completed.
Remove the affected equipment from operation and clearly identify.
4. Responsibilities
The organisation
- Ensuring equipment is / are safe before use.
- Scheduling regular maintenance.
- Providing insurance.
- Retiring and replacing equipment as needed.
- Daily Vehicle inspections sheets to check equipment and expiry dates.
5. Servicing, Maintenance & Safety
- All equipment should be checked prior to its use for safe function & performance.
- Reporting of general maintenance is to be through the Operations manager and priority for required maintenance based on severity and / or need.
- Servicing and receipts for any equipment maintenance are to be held within the equipment administration folder.
- All equipment will be serviced in annually in the month of August.

We have contracts in place for equipment maintenance with the following providers:

6. Administration
All Equipment admin will be house in the Equipment administration folder
Each applicable equipment will have a service expiry date sticker attached.
