Whitecross AED Upgraded

Coast Medic recently attended Whitecross Hall to replace the AED battery and carry out routine checks to ensure the defibrillator is fully rescue ready. Maintaining AEDs in working order is essential, as these devices may be required at a moment’s notice to save a life.

As part of this visit, a new AED guardian has been assigned to the defibrillator. The guardian will help ensure regular monthly checks are completed and that the device status is submitted to the national database. This information allows the ambulance service to confidently direct members of the public to a verified, working AED in an emergency.

Can You Help as an AED Guardian?

We are always looking for additional volunteers to act as AED guardians within local communities. Guardians play a vital role in carrying out simple monthly checks and helping us ensure that every defibrillator remains ready for use. If you are able to help, please contact us.

New Fund for AED Maintenance

We have also launched a new fundraising campaign to support local communities with the ongoing maintenance of their AEDs, including replacement batteries, pads, and servicing. If you would like to donate towards this cause, please visit https://coastmedic.org.uk/cornwall-aed-support-fund/.

Together, we can help keep lifesaving defibrillators accessible, maintained, and ready when they are needed most.
